For over 30 years, the Pediatric Hospital of Kimbondo has been treating tens of children from the poverty-stricken suburbs of Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of Congo) and offering hospitality and education to abandoned children, at present more than 800. Thanks to the Kinta project, the Kimbondo community will become fully self-sufficient in food, assure a daily meal to all the children and a job opportunity to the youth. The "Hub for Kimbondo" is our way of helping them. Join us in supporting this project!
From 5 to 12 August 2012 support the Pediatric Hospital in Kimbondo by sending an SMS (2 Euros) or calling from a landline (giving 2 or 5 Euros) the number: 45501. The history of Kimbondo developed around the Pediatric Hospital founded in the ‘80s by physicians Laura Perna and Father Hugo Rios to provide hospital care to street children who were abandoned because they were believed to be "Ndoki" (child witch doctors). Today, the Hospital hosts more than 800 children and, with the assistance of four Congolese doctors, treats all the diseases that do not require surgery. But, above all, it has become a point of reference for the most destitute in the whole Kinshasa area. Kinta is the name of the project to develop agricultural activities capable of both making the Pediatric Hospital self-sufficient in food and of offering the community job opportunities and economic emancipation. The future of Kimbondo is in their hands: help us to help them!
In your next income tax return donate 5x1000 to the Fondazione InSé Onlus. It is an act of love that will make it possible to support the Pediatric Hospital of Kimbondo with no extra charge for donors. The Hospital’s more than 800 little guests thank you for all you are willing to do for them.
"Father Hugo Rios, co-founder of the Pediatric Foundation of Kimbondo, and Iole Sacchi Cisnetto, president of the Fondazione InSé Onlus, present their "Hub for Kimbondo" project: a choral program uniting numerous Italian ‘Onlus’ (non-profit organizations) coordinated by the Fondazione InSé Onlus. The common goal is to help the Kimbondo community, in the poverty-stricken suburbs of Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of Congo), to grow and become autonomous. The "Hub for Kimbondo" project aims to expand the hospital facility and the halfway houses, stimulate the schooling of younger generations and empower young women by favoring their emancipation and professional training. The project received the patronage of the Social Secretary of RAI and from 1 to 15 August 2011 it will be possible to donate 2 Euros to the Kimbondo community by sending an SMS or calling from a landline the number 45504."
"Hub for Kimbondo" is a working project promoted by a group of associations coordinated by the Fondazione InSé Onlus led by Iole Cisnetto, with the aim of supporting the community arisen around the Kimbondo Pediatric Hospital in Kinshasa and the medical, schooling and midway houses for women that form part of it to grow autonomous.
This year, the Premio Roma for Peace and Humanitarian Action was awarded to Khady Koita, the symbol of African women’s battle against female genital mutilation. It is a theme to which the Fondazione InSé Onlus has chosen to dedicate a new project this year, bearing witness to its commitment to combat a useless and bloody ritual that is unfortunately still very widespread.
The Fondazione InSé was founded as the direct spinoff of the "Amici di Cortina" Association. It was conceived as an additional instrument in the form of an Onlus (non-profit organization), to do real charity and more tangibly contribute to supporting projects in favour of organizations carrying out humanitarian activities. The generosity of the public and of the sponsors of the Cortina InConTra event will give new hope to women and children, in Italy and in Africa.
